.
My first reaction was “Its freakin Hot n Humid here!”. I felt like I was inside a microwave!
Theres nothing much to talk about the place. I mean, its the same as Bangalore. But yeah, the traffic is soo much better!
( It took me 2 hours to reach home from Bangalore. That was half of the journey time ).
I also learnt a few Tamil words! Venakkam!
Vaango, Pongo, ille, Ukaarungo
I can now relate to some areas as well…like The Mount Road, Nungambaakam (Loong name?!), T Nagar, Puunammalli Road (!!)
Madras Filter Coffee ( or kaapi
) is also called as Metre coffe as they pour it from 3 feet high! You must really see them do it! Its awe-inspiring! It smells good too! Other than Coffee…theres always Idli, Vada and the really spicy chutney that can burn your tongue!
Can anyone tell me, why does the City Center Mall look like an ancient Roman building ?!
Just a thought.
Marina beach was filled with homosapiens and Canis lupus familiaris’
Mahabalipuram is the dream world of Tamil arts (world heritage site). The beach was really peaceful. We were at the beach at around 5.30 am in the morning to watch the sunrise. The Shore temple is really beautiful. We were lucky ‘coz it was early in the morning and not many people were around (actually, no one was around). So we got the whole place fo ourselves!!
Sunrise! Mahabalipuram.

Dad and Me =)

Getting self-obsessed at the beach !

Shore Temple…. Copy Rights Reserved !!

We drove back along the east coast. All the connecting roads to Bangalore are neat. The ride was amazing! Dad drove at 120 km/hr !!

It started to drizzle once we were near the Bangalore border. See, thats when you realise that you’re near Bangalore!! Its cloudy and freaking cold since then!
We were stuck in traffic for 2 hours. But that really doesn’t matter when its raining and you have Rohit Barker on the radio with you!
P.S. – Forgive me for having used so many smileys everywhere. I’m just excited, having missed school for 3 days!

@ RJ : 120 km/hr was one of the best part of the whole journey! And the highway is beautiful too! Flowering shrubs and cloudy skies!
Shore temple is a nice place. We went there at around 6.30 am so no single soul was around. Just hooohooo !

My most uninspired comment ever – Nice.
Yep, that’s it. Comment over. Why so uninspired? Because I’ve never been to a beach in my entire life. Not been to Chennai either, but my brother has once. Not once duh, he did his MBA from a college called Loyola institute in Chennai. And till some years back I used to think that Chennai and Madras were two different places. I wonder why they keep changing names. I find Madras better. What is Bangalore called nowadays? Bengalooru? Bangalore was so much better. I read a Vir Sanghvi article on how the government changed these names just to satisfy their ego. According to them, Madras, Calcutta, Bombay and Bangalore were names kept by the British. And so they became Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and Bengaluru. I wonder why they changed the names. The British rule is a part of our history, why try to Indianise the names? I don’t get it. And wow, this is so brilliantly off topic. O.o
Anyway, nice pictures, especially the sunset and the self obsession one. Is that supposed to be ‘I Rock’ or ‘|Rock|’? And had anyone else gone with you too? Who took that picture of you and your dad?
And header picture is really nice. You’re really good when it comes to then. But I’ve got to admit, the guitar one still remains my favorite.
27 June, 2008 at 8:44 pm
@Pri – Dumb me..yea almost forgot abt the Cl in NaCl
Salty water…LOL! You crack my up rockstar! The BESTT!
28 June, 2008 at 8:22 am

2 July, 2008 at 5:15 pm
Hey!!! You have been to Chennai?? I lived there for 2.5 years. I have such beautiful memories of the place. I made such great friends. Happy times.
And nice to know that you enjoyed. Such breaks are very good for “man ki shanti”
