Stuck in a Moment

This blog is going from bad to worse after each post. [insert a sad faced sorry]. Time to keep it alive. Sorry to the few of you who visit my space. I’ve been a bad bad blogger, not visiting any of your sites and blah blah, you get it..

So I asked this question on twitter and was surprised to get so many replies.

#Q – Is it better to plan your future or just let things “happen” and stay happy?

@dineshbabu – Your future already gets planned by what you do today, so just focus on what you are doing today.

@aarthycrazy – It not a Q of whats better. Its more a Q of who you are? I myself love life as it happens. It always thinks of sumthing to surprise U =)

@airr – I used to plan and even have backup plans …. now I have given up on planning.

@sneezymelon – The latter. Anyday.

@funthusia – Well that’s like sayng whether it’s better to know ur husband before marriage or (marry anyone) & just let things ‘happen’ & stayhappy.

@primaveron – I guess it’s good to plan ur future, but sometimes plans may change, and you shud be okay with it =)

@parambir – After 6 months of effort in planning my life, I found that my earlier approach of letting things happen was a better one!

Listening to Stuck in a Moment- U2. And yeah, follow these guys! They’ll give you some great advice everytime you’re stuck =)

Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed.

@ Priya – Yeah- He sure would be blessed coz no disappointments, no heart breaks. But really If U have nothing to except from tomorrow then what really would be the cause and the inspiration to wake up everyday.

I expect things every second. Each time I open a my blog, I wanna see comments- people posted, each time I open twitter I wanna make new friends, I expect a lot of things from life…..

& that gives me enough reason to celebrate it. Coz when we want something to happen- It will happen.

@ Purple beats- & no yaar. I am not good @ advising but in the least I can point out things that I feel relevant. Right.

You can never help people by advising. I myself hate my parents giving advice. I ask – Whats the big deal about doing the right things anyway. It\’s my life & If am not @ liberty to make my mistakes – then what really is the fun in it.

& Yeah I have just started to read your blog & I think Its good. U write what U feel & I think that it makes it special.

    Keep writing yaar.

& about visiting people who visit you. U should do it yaar. Not coz to honor those people. But coz maybe If their comments are worth reading then, their blog should have some stuff strong right.

& yeah- I have noticed this in blogging. There will always be people who comment on your blog what ever U come up with. But then- U can never know the commenter more- If U are not visiting his blog. Right???

& yeah I stand by what I said about life.

\”People who worry too much abt life arent really living it & people who are living life to the fullest don\’t really have the time nor the resources to worry abt it\”

Don’t worry. Neither about the future part nor about the blogging part. The one thing I’ve learnt about life from observing the transition between school and college of my sister, and experiencing the same for myself, is that planning is the one thing that always serves you disappointment. However, if you let things take their own course, let the chips fall as they may, you always end up with more satisfaction, more contention, and more joy. My sister prepared for medical entrance exams for two whole years with great passion. Suddenly, as the entrance exams drew nearer, she just couldn’t get over the fact that she would have to study the same subjects for around the next seven years, and apply them her own life. So, she left medical and gave several tests for becoming a pilot. Suddenly, again, after passing the two medical tests and the cockpit test, she felt this was not her thing. So, for the time being, she joined B.Sc. Maths Hns at Delhi University. One year later, fed up of the mathematics, she decided to take up CA. And now, despite the fact that she has to study, study and study for the next 7 months (Owing to the fact that she belongs to a science background), she’s one of the happiest and most satisfied persons I’ve ever seen. And not a single word above is exaggeration.

Whatever is happening, let it happen. This moment, too, shall pass. And after that would begin an awesome ride. As for blogging, I’m hoping you didn’t read the kind of posts I made when I was going through the same phase, ’cause that would be a huge embarassment :P

    And always remember

All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring. (Chuck Palahniuk, Invisible Monsters, 1999)

Everything is temporary, sometimes the temporary lasts for a minute and sometimes for a year. But you should know that it is temporary and once you know you will be able to get out of it soon and you will forget that you even had a stuck moment. You will be out of it soon. I have been a bad blogger these days too!

    Just go with the flow.
Do you really think God planned the way we humans turned out to be? :)

    Hey PJ

(If it really matters)It’s totally alright to plan your future(if planning includes wishes, ambitions and other things), just don’t sulk if things don’t go the way you want it to.

Rephrasing what Thomas Wayne said to his future-batman-son =>
Why do we fall son? So we learn to pick ourselves again.

    Corny but thoughtful.
