after 4th day
College is half good and half bad. I get to sleep till 7 am everyday and still be able to make it there by 8. I am not going to WALK till college even if it is 1.5 kms away. Buh.
Classes started from day 1 itself. Tests, Exams and Quizzes dates were announced right in the 1st hour. 2 units are already completed by the end of the 4th day. And no, it is not as bad as it sounds. We get a lot of free time and “let offs”. Some of the teachers are really interesting and fun. There are google groups created by teachers for their subjects where they put up interactive links that help in learning the subjects. First day was weird as all the teachers started to scare us about attendence requirements, GPAs and stuff. The fact that I “actually” opened my “Engineering Mechanics” book on day 2 itself should say something. There are people from Bombay, Jharkhand, Mangalore, UP, and other places. They must have fun at the hostels. I feel like I live in a hostel too. The girls hostel is 2 mins from home
I really hope we get to do something apart from studying too. I can’t believe we have “Environment Study”, “Constitution of India” and “Economics” as compulsary subjects. Eww.
Been catching up on the basic concepts and other things. Got no time for anything here. Haven’t even touched my camera. Got this sudden urge to post something on flickr. Tried out some layer experiments on PS with this picture. Sorry for typing everything in half sentences. I think I’ve lost the ebullience to blog :-\

Welcome to engineering…!! where you’ll be made to learn mindless COI, Intellectual Property Rights & will learn to deal with cranky HODs and also have fun at the same time!
Engineering… is all about this… the moment you enter the college you are given loads of assignments, burdened with exams, test and all but ironically nobody gives a damn to all these within 2 months and you feel like “your best decision in life was to chose engineering over other career options” but wait its not over…
constitution..hehe..my bro always used to curse this subj…
good luck!!:)
Unwittingly though, economics was my favorite. And the book was Nordhaus & Samuelson
And, back then the socialistic ideals of the India govt were not completely lost. It was nice to get understanding of very US like capitalistic thought. But my interest is attributed to my really amazing prof. I enjoyed deviating from hardcore engineering – later on I also opted psychology and philosophy, thought not that unwittingly
Good luck and enjoy!!
You know I read somewhere that PESIT is for people who are totally obsessed about studying and grades and their future and basically who enjoy or like studying, etc. and that the fun factor is really on the down-low.. in fact its like going back to school with dress codes and compulsory attendance… and I thought that it couldn’t be that bad..
Now, I see all that is entirely true
Best of Luck!
Somebody told me that the princi actuall turned the football ground to parking lot. Just to make sure students won’t “waste” their time. He also mentioned about hourly bell ring and few more. I don’t know how true it is.
*stop telling me how good science colleges are*
I go to a fucked up college..its got a damn good name etc..but trust me it is fucked up BIG time..damn..
And nice photo
Lovely foto!
And yea…that is college for you!
Wish I could go back!
Have fun!
“2 units are already completed by the end of the 4th day” Are u kidding me??? what sort of college is this and what sort of teachers are they? It is impossible for any good teacher to do two units in 4 days! and wrong too!
good luck !! dont forget to have some fun .. between ur studies
Great … welcome to engineering …. and the world of never ending assignments …
Good old days engineering!! You will realize how chilled out life is by the time you reach the end of your first sem. It’s only about knowing the art of clearing exams. If you want to lead a life where there is no time. Join an MBA at a top b-school. They try hard to suck the life out of you, or you out of your life…whatever, but then we survive!!
And yeah, hostel life is awesome when you live 60s from your classroom!! I can wake up 2 mins after my lecture starts and still reach on time..haha.
leave home.
yes, you read it correct. leave ur home.
And go get a room in the girls hostel with the rest of ur collegemates. coz THAT is one college experience that one should NOT miss.
