titration & logic gates

[ Do NOT advertise on my Weblog! I am freaked out at the frequency of spam this space is attracting. And most of them are about making money, promoting their sites, etc etc. WTF. ]

We had an amazingly good chemistry lab today. Estimation of chloride ions in the given water sample. Took us less than 15 minutes to perform this titration as the silver nitrate standard solution was already given to us and we could directly start the analysis. Our lab hours is for 2 hours. We had 45 minutes + 30 minutes [of the lunch break] free time. Went out during that time, had pizza, spoke stuff and came back. Math was good too. I really pity the teacher who struggles to explain things to us and 70% of the class doesn’t even care. Mechanics is just too good. Nobody cares. Everybody minds their own work [messaging- though cell phones are banned, flirting- ahem, sleeping, talking, talking...].

I am really amazed at the fact that so many people on twitter are helping me with my assignments. Reema had clarified a few of my doubts 2 weeks back. Then Anvesh solved a problem that I’d put up on twitpic. Vivek gave me ideas about solving them. Ranjith explained to me almost everything that I needed to know about converting the logic gates to all NAND and NOR. Can’t be more thankful to these guys.

One is supposed to make maximum use of all available resources while studying or doing the assignments. :P

It is good that you are enjoying the classes and it is also nice to know that your doubts are getting solved on twitter! :-)
    Keep it going!

(takes a walk down the memory lane…first semester exam, chemistry lab)
i got some experiment, an easy one! took the burette and filled it up, and then the pipette and took the sample and blah blah, added indicator and started to do the titration, got the color change and stopped the cork on the burette…but before i could note the reading, stupid burette leaked! had to do it once more, repeated the steps..got color change, another stupid burette! cork came out, all the liquid came pouring down! :|
repeated again, yet another stupid burette! couldnt turn the cork…all this time, the staff incharge wa sseeing me and ahem ahem, having got a good name in class and lab hours, he came to me, said leave it and gave me the readings!
(comes back to present time line)
i wonder why we have to do titration!? :-o we are engineers and not scientists!
