amidst a mess

I just got up from sleep. Its 10:52 pm & I still need to START preparing for the comp quiz tomorrow. Theory AND lab. These quizzes are hell. They last for 15 minutes & get over even before we I realize that its begun. On top of this, we are being “tested” in the ‘tronics lab tomorrow. Each of us will be given an experiment and need to get the circuits right to proceed. Learning 14 freaking topics for 2 freaking marks.

To add to this mess, I’m currently on antibiotics AND pain killers for my wound [which by the way, hasn't healed much & according to the doc, the internal blood clot has started spreading (?)]. The blueness is turning into purpleness =P

& tomorrow happens to be the last official working day of college! Never realized amidst all the mess!! First semester just flew by!~

First Official Accident

I met with an accident today morning while going to college. A maniac bus driver was driving at 80 km/hr speed. I was taking a turn [with the indicator ON, ahem] and he appeared out of nowhere. I applied breaks suddenly but couldn not control the 110 cc beast and feel with the bike on me. Passers stood there watching me trying to lift the vehicle off me but nobody came by to offer any help. Finally a nice lady helped me out. Everything went back to normal as I headed towards college. The pain in my leg started to show its presence after an hour. I couldn’t tolerate the pain and went back home.

I dared my grandmom to keep this a secret; thinking the pain would vanish by evening. BUT she HAD to let everyone [read parents] know. Dad examined the hurt area. Internal blood cloting has turned a part of my swollen leg blue in color. I was expecting him to yell at me for having ruined the brand new bike with scratches & for my carelessness, irresponsibility, recklessness, no-sense and such similar things.

He congratulated me for having experienced my first official road accident.

Why does God demand the death of so many innocent people in the Bible?

Something written in the Bible shocked me. I don’t know how much of this is true [not like I care either] but it was quite interesting to read these.

Look at these verses:

Deuteronomy 21:18-21 – God demands that we kill disobedient teenagers.

18 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:

19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;

20 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.

21 And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

Leviticus 20:13 – God demands the death of homosexuals.

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be on them.

Deuteronomy 22:13-21 – God demands that we kill girls who are not virgins when they marry.

13 If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her,

14 And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid:

15 Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel’s virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate:

16 And the damsel’s father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her;

17 And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter’s virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.

18 And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him;

19 And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.

20 But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:

21 Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father’s house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.

Just so you know, I am not Anti- Christian or anything. I am a Hindu girl and proud of my religious believes. I have not read the Bhagvat Gita. According to me, the 100s of religions all over the world are aiming to reach the single same truth, only through different paths. Just stumbled upon this randomly while searching for something else. None of it is mine whatsoever. Peace.

Internals, BPW, Twitter & 80$

Second internals done. It was very different from the first one. The new college nerdiness/seriousness factor seemed to have vanished from everyone and the college-is-actually-fun factor had conquored us all. Nobody really bothered to prepare from weeks back [like before] and ended up with last minute preparation. So the official college life has begun.

As I say this, I realize that the first semester is coming to an end within a month. Our final sem exams/quizzes/lab finals are going to happen in less than a month now. This has slowly started to freak me out [from this moment onwards] and its time to “switch back to the enough-with-the-fun-part-already”!!

B’lore Photo Walk kicked back to life today morning at 7:00. The aim was to capture the works of the BBMP artists all over the city. 12 people turned up for it, it was a quite experience. Later on, we moved to VV Puram for the annual temple fair.

It was a huge surprise for me when I read this tweet the day before my CS exam in the night. I was soo excited that I din’t even bother studying for it [though the exam din't go that bad the next day]. My dad still thinks that the 4000 bucks is some spam thing like one of those “you’ve won a lottery” spams. Took me sometime to explain to him that this was for real and PayPal is the safest mode of money transactions on the web. Can’t thank @hnp more for helping me with the process. This whole twitter has revolutionized my life in a way. Tweetups, TEDx Bangalore, BPW news and more importantly getting to know many wonderfully talented people. The talk that we had after the TEDx Bangalore meet was quite something. I have come to realize that the biggest inspiration I get is from other people. Not even books, movies, whatnot can be more inspiring than the talk that you have with these folks. The kind of work they do, the way they think, the people that they are, making themselves out of nobody makes me believe in a lot of things.

the “thing” with guys

We got our conference T-shirts at college today. We’re having a 3 day National Conference on Protein Folding Dynamics and Diseases. I’m looking forward to it. Will get to see many people from different places speak, do presentations, present papers, posters and stuff. So moving on, these shirts look sad_ All of us initially taught that it’d be cool to wear Biotech tees and stuff but now its like, “really”? Its got PESIT BIOTECH DEPT printed boldly in Goth font!!!

My friend mesgs me: “Hey so you Really wearing the tee tom? I dono what to do, I don’t want to be the Only fool wearing it. Lemme know by tom morn”.

The thing about guys. Well, I really don’t know what the “thing” is, but they were the first ones to wear it as soon as they got it [in class]. Hmmmm O_o

Edit: [Added this an hour after publishing 'coz it Really made me think. Ahem].

So thats what makes guys who they are. They don’t care about how it looks or what color/ font it is. They just “get along” with what they get. They don’t fuss. They don’t imagine things to be in a particular way and crib about how sad it is once it appears in front of them in reality. Thats why they can float along in any condition easily without bothering too much. Thats actually pretty cool.
