Christmas ’11 in photos

I met my best friend from school yesterday and we roamed around talking and clicking pictures. Here are some images of the Christmas celebrations /decorations. Shot using my favorite 50mm lens (bokeh!)…I think it did a decent job with the lights, colors and mood..

  1. Great photos. I usually don’t upload photos to because the 3 GB space is going to be filled out soon that way. :P I rather upload them on Flickr or Google+ (I skipped flickr because of some problems) and hotlink them from my blog. That doesn’t make the slideshow, though.

  2. You have pursued this diligently. Good job. Since you have mentioned the lens – Tell me, if I have a 18-55 and 55-200, then is a 50mm a good buy? What lens is a good balance between aperture, angle (wide/normal) and price? (too lazy to read)

    • Thanks Kapil. I highly recommend a prime lens. Yes, it is worth the buy. 50mm works great in low light, gives good depth of field and produces sharp images. Hence, it is also widely used for portraits. I have a 50mm f/1.8 II which cost me ~5k rupees. If your budget is higher, I’d recommend the f/1.4 lens.
